Every shipper in Egypt faces the same question sooner or later: do I book a whole truck, or pay for part of one? The answer decides your cost per pallet, your transit time, and how much handling your cargo sees on the road.

What is FTL (Full Truckload)?

With FTL, the truck is yours alone. It loads at your door, drives directly to the destination, and unloads once. No intermediate stops, no co-loaded cargo, no extra handling. FTL is the right call when you move enough volume to fill (or mostly fill) a truck, when the cargo is time-sensitive, or when it should not share space with other goods.

What is LTL (Less-than-Truckload)?

With LTL, you pay only for the space your pallets occupy on a shared, scheduled trip. It is the economic choice for smaller consignments — a few pallets to Alexandria, a partial load to Assiut — where booking a dedicated truck would mean paying to move air.

How to Decide

  • Volume: more than two-thirds of a truck? Go FTL. A handful of pallets? LTL wins on cost.
  • Urgency: FTL runs direct; LTL follows the shared trip schedule.
  • Handling sensitivity: fragile or high-value goods benefit from FTL's single load/unload cycle.
  • Frequency: weekly recurring volume often justifies a scheduled FTL contract with better rates.

At Truck World we run both: dedicated FTL trips and scheduled LTL routes across all Egyptian governorates. Tell us the cargo, route, and dates — we will quote both options so you can compare real numbers.
